world first commercial 4G network launched

TeliaSonera Launches First Commercial 4G Network

Swedish and Norwegian mobile users could be among the first to use a fourth-generation (4G) mobile network.

Mobile phone firm TeliaSonera has completed work on two 4G networks in Oslo and Stockholm.

The company said that the first customers will be able to start using the networks in early 2010.

Despite the launch of the network, no handsets can yet use 4G. Initially customers will connect via a dongle and a laptop.

Fourth-generation, 4G, networks are based around the Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology and downlink data speeds can hit 100 megabits per second - about ten times quicker than the fastest 3G networks.

The technology has been designed to overlay existing 3G networks and most operators have committed to upgrading to the faster system.

TeliaSonera said it was recruiting customers to pilot the network during the first quarter of 2010.

It has released no information about the cost of connecting to the high-speed network. The dongles for connecting to the LTE network are made by Samsung.

Phone equipment maker Ericsson has put together the network in Stockholm, Sweden and Chinese firm Huawei is behind the one in Oslo, Norway. Both networks cover the central regions of both cities.

TeliaSonera said it expected the boost in speed to drive many novel applications including gaming on the move and much greater viewing of video on laptops.

Handsets that can use LTE are expected in mid-late 2010.

       Student Branch of IEEE-University of moratuwa had organized the event this year.There are 12 groups, battling with this global challenge.The competition was started @5.30am on 24th octomber and  finished @5.30am on next day.A team from University of Moratuwa (Mora seekers) has placed top in the world in this competition.

      Opening Ceremony of this event was held at 24th October  in the Department of Electronic & Telecommunication of University of Moratuwa.

Google Chrome OS

Google Chrome OS is a PC operating system. Announced on July 7, 2009, the operating system will be open source and targeted at netbooks.

So it seems now is the time where a lightweight contender with enough focus, and enough driving force could succeed in tipping the balance finally from desktop to web.

If you remember the very first Micrsoft WPF demos, they showed desktop applications which were email-able, inherently connected. At the time I considered these islands in the cloud, whether that was the future of apps, indeed it seemed silly to have to start an OS, to start a web browser, to start an app. Why not cut out the middle man (as does AIR). But this big old web-browser kept on being too useful, too good at connecting the dots, so it lingers. When you turn *it* into the OS, that doesn’t cut out the middle man, it cuts out the old guy that was behind him. Indeed most people don’t even know what the browser is/was.

Google Chrome OS is nothing new, from the Pogo of the 90’s, to linux netbooks of this decade, to the Crunchpad of next, we’ve seen these light-weight alternatives come and go, but this is a war of attrition, and it’s the users that are the grains of sand wearing down at the walls of the Fat Operating System, not the technology.

ත්‍රස්තවාදය වර්තමානයේ ලොව පුරා උඩ දිවූ පිළිලයක් වී හමාරය. ත්‍රස්තවාදය නිසා නැතිවී ගිය මාහැගි ජීවිත සංඛ්‍යාව අපමණය.විනාශ වූ දේපළ වල වටිනාකම තක්සේරු කිරීමද අපහසුය.

       දෙපිරිසක් අතර ඇති වන ගැටුමක් උග්‍ර වෙත්ම එය ක්‍රමයෙන් ත්‍රස්තවාදය බවට පත්වෙනවා යයි කීමෙහි කිසිදු දොසක් නැත.වර්තමානයේ විවිධ පිරිස් අතර විවිධ ගැටුම් ඇතිවී තිබේ. නැන්දම්මලා ලේලීන් හා සටන් වදිති.සේවකයන් සේව්‍යයන් හා සටන් වදිති.ආණ්ඩු පක්ෂය විපක්ෂය හා සටන් වදිති.සිංහලයෝ දමිළයින් හා සටන් වදිති.ඉරාක ජනතාව ඇමරිකානුවන් සමග සටන් වදිති.ඊශ්‍රායල හමුදාව පලස්තීනුවන් සමග සටන් වදිති.මෙය ලොව පුරා දක්නට ලැබෙන විවිධ ආකාරයේ ගැටුම්ය.මේ අතර සාමාන්‍ය ජනතාව ජීවන වියදම සමග කරන්නා වූ සටනද සුළු කොට තැකිය නොහැකි මහා සංග්‍රාමයකි.එහෙත් අසරණ ජනතාව ජීවන වියදම පිළිබද මැසිවිලි නගනු විනා අවි ගෙන ත්‍රස්තවාදීන් බවට පත්ව ත්‍රස්තවාදය මගින් තම ජීවන සටන ජය ගන්නට නොසිතති.

       දෙපිරිසක් අතර ඇති වන මෙම යුද්ධය උග්‍ර වෙත්ම එය ත්‍රස්තවාදය බවට පත්වේ. ත්‍රස්තවාදය මිනිසා නොමිනිසා නොහදුනයි. මනුෂ්‍යත්වයේ සුවද ආඝ්‍රාණය නොකරයි. මානුෂීය හැගීම් කෙරෙහි ගරු නොකරයි. සියළු දෙනාගේ ජීවත් වීමේ අයිතිය ගරු නොකරයි.තම විරුද්ධවාදීන් කෙසේ හෝ විනාශ කර දැමීම ත්‍රස්තවාදීන්ගේ අරමුණයි. ත්‍රස්තවාදීන් කිසි විටෙක අත්තූපනායික ධර්මය අනුගමනය නොකරයි.එනම් ඔවුන් තමා උපමා කොට අන් මිනිසුන් පිළිබදව නොසිතයි.ඔවුන් තම මතකයෙහි රුවා ගත යුත්තක් පහත දැක්වේ.

       අත්තා‍නං උපමං කත්ව-නහනෙය්‍යන ඝාතයේ”

 “කිසිදු සත්වයෙකු හිංසාවට අකමැතිය.සියලු දෙනාම තම ජීවිතයට කැමතිය.තමා උපමා කොට අන් අයට හිංසා නොකරන්න,නොමරන්න”

       මෙසේ ගෙන හැර දැක්වූ බුදු වදන ‍බුදුදහම අනුගමනය කරන්නන් හා නොකරන්නන් හට එකසේ පොදුය.

       සියළු දෙනාම මනුෂ්‍යයෝය.මනුෂ්‍යන් හැටියට ඔවුන්ට ඇත්තේ සමාන හැගීම් හා අරමුණුය.ආගම් හා ජන වර්ග අතින් වෙනස් වුවත් අප සියළු දෙනාගේ කයෙහි එක පාටැති රුධිරය දිව යයි.විද්‍යාත්මක පදනම මත අප සියළු දෙනා එකම ඝනයකටත්  එකම විශේෂයකටත් අයත් වේ.Homo sapien sapiens යන නූතන නාමය සියළු දෙනාටම පොදුය.

       තනි අතකින් අත්පුඩියක් ගසන්නට නොබැරිවා සේම යුද්ධයක් කිරීමට එක් පාර්ශවයක් තිබීම ප්‍රමාණවත් නොවේ.අත් දෙකකින් අත්පුඩි ගැසිය යුතුවා සේම යුද්ධයක් කිරීමට දෙපාර්ශවයක් තිබිය යුතුය. ඒ නිසා යුද්ධයක් ඇතිවීමේ හා ත්‍රස්තවාදය මුල් බැස ගැනීමේ වරද දෙපාර්ශවයම බාර ගත යුතුය.

       සිංහල මවක් තම දරුවාට දක්වන ආදරය සිංහල ආදරය ලෙසද මුස්ලිම් මවක් තම දරුවාට දක්වන ආදරය මුස්ලිම් ආදරය ලෙසද ලේබල් කල නොහැක. එය අර්ථ ගැන්විය හැක්කේ හුදෙක් මවකගෙන් දරුවකුට ලැබෙන ආදරයක් ලෙසය.සියළු දෙනාටම සමාන අයිතිවාසිකම් ඇත.සියළු දෙනාටම ලොව ජීවත් වීමේ අයිතියද ඇත.සමාජයක් තුල වෙසෙන සියළු දෙනා මතක තබා ගත යුත්තේ අන් අයගේ අයිතිවාසිකම් උදුරා නොගැනීමටය,සහෘදයෙකු ලෙස තම යුතුකම් ඉටු කිරීමටය.එවිට ත්‍රස්තවාදයට හේතු වූ මුල් බීජය මැලවී යන බව නොඅනුමානය.
